Explore the fundamentals of throwing on the potter’s wheel, from preparing the clay to glazing your pieces. The workshops run twice on the first week and once a week for the last two weeks. Each session is 3 hours, for a total of 12 hours.

WEEK 1, SESSION 1 & 2: Introduction to material and technique — learn how to prepare the clay, center it on the wheel and throw bowls and cylinders under an instructor’s guidance.

WEEK 2, SESSION 3: Refine the pieces made during the previous sessions, before the first firing - master the rudiments of trimming and other alteration methods.

WEEK 3, SESSION 4: Decorate your pieces - learn about glazes and experiment with applications. Pieces will be ready for collection two to three weeks later.

Price includes all materials and firing fees.

All courses and workshops take place at Warthestr. 68 12051, Berlin.

Clay can be messy, wearing clothes and footwear you won’t mind getting dirty is recommended. Short finger nails are strongly suggested for the duration of the course!

Please note: Cancellation or change in booking are possible up to 7 days prior to the first session. Cancellation will be fully refunded minus the credit card/paypal processing fee. Due to the limited amount of work stations available, we can’t guarantee a make-up class in the case of nonattendance. Please make sure you are available for all dates of the course before enrolling. In the special case of a serious illness, injury or major life event, please contact us. We reserve the right to decide if a reimbursement or cancellation is possible and each request will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
