Tableware: Pottery Wheel Intermediary | 18 hours - 6 weeks
“Tableware: Pottery Wheel Intermediary” is a follow up course to the “Pottery Wheel For Beginners” course or an equivalent. Its longer course format allows time to strengthen your already acquired skills while also learning new techniques. By the end of the course you will have learned how to throw all the shapes necessary to make a complete tableware set.
The course runs once a week for six consecutive weeks. Each session is three hours, for a total of eighteen hours. Each class is limited to a max of five participants.
WEEK 1: Revisit the wheel fundamentals and perfect your skills. The first session will start with a quick run-through of the throwing process with added tips and tricks to improve your technique, followed up by two hours of guided work creating bowls and cups for your collection.
WEEK 2: Learn about shape modifications, make and transform cylinders and bowls into vases, jugs, creamers or matcha bowls.
WEEK 3: Refine your pieces from the previous two weeks. Trim your work and explore making handles and other form of attachments with guided demonstrations.
WEEK 4: Learn how to throw plates and shallow bowls under guided instruction. This lesson will focus on throwing wide shapes to complete your tableware set.
WEEK 5: Trim pieces made during week four. During this session we will learn the best practices and techniques for trimming wide and flat shapes.
Your ceramics will be bisque fired between week five and week six.
WEEK 6: Decorate your pieces. Learn about glazes and experiment with applications for specific shapes.
Following week six, pieces will be fired and ready for collection two to three weeks later.
All courses and workshops take place at Warthestr. 68 12051, Berlin. Price includes all materials and firing fees.

Clay can be messy, wearing clothes and footwear you won’t mind getting dirty is recommended. Short finger nails are recommended!
Cancellation Policy – Multi-Week Courses:
I run a small, one-person studio, and spots in each course are very limited to maintain an intimate setting. Because of this, the following cancellation policy applies:
30+ days before the first session: Full refund minus processing fees, or 100% studio credit valid for 12 months.
14–29 days before the first session: 50% refund, or 100% studio credit valid for 12 months.
13 days or less before the first session: Unfortunately, I cannot offer a refund.
Missed sessions are generally difficult to reschedule due to the course structure. That said, I understand that life happens. If you experience serious illness, injury, or another major unforeseen event, please reach out as soon as possible. I’ll do my best to work something out when possible, though I can’t guarantee alternative arrangements or compensation.
You’re also welcome to transfer your spot to someone else if you give me prior notice.
